Betrayer of the Sea

Picture
Waves shatter against the shore like an endless volley of a relentless enemy
A mind lost to surf and sand; a heart lost to the sea of tears
Kissed by the sun in void of a kinder mistress; scarred by the taste of salt on the lips
The grand war fought among the surge of a boundless tide
No victor will be named here; the only reward a decayed treasure of isolation

This hapless odyssey was never meant to lead into a prison of anguish
Sails rose on a desire of knowledge and love; the wind betrays both
What carries to new purpose brings closer the end; a gale of spurned emotion
The goddess of new life strikes down those before her throne
An agonizing demise brought from afar; the hand of treachery once loved

You were meant to be a protector; the bittersweet savior of the oceans
But these turbulent waters convey your true impulsion
We worshiped you like a divine empress; adored your very being
And still we become abandoned in this forsaken place; an island of sorrow without you

A barren coast surrounded by a constant reminder of your cruelty
Over the bounding main of lies you linger; in our hearts and through our fleeting breath
The gust a reminder of the passion once held; the tide a truth of corruption
Betrayed by the seducer of the seafarers and accursed

Seraph of the Empty and Broken

One final saunter through a wasteland of broken expanse
A failing body betrays a clever mind; a vile realization of misery
Trapped in a shattered maze of iron and smoke; blinded by barriers of an empty triumph
Each step finds blood; a dire need of a dying man
Anguish beyond the horizons of a burning battlefield

Through the tortured clouds of flame and fire she appears
A phantom of brilliant golden rapture to the eyes; perhaps one last mirage
Reality no longer mattered in this dreadful place; a ghostly presence was enough
Life continues to fade as she comes into focus; vision struggles dearly to see
The torment, pain, and frustrations of war fade too around her

One hand finds the hilt of a sword whilst the other finds peace; both are stained by sin
Thirst for conquest becomes something else; a longing for a savior
The fearless becoming the foolish
Are you here to rescue or damn; a whirlwind of tormenting doubt
A blackened cloud of suffering can doom even the false heroes

Sadness overcomes the last fleeting bit of hope; a strike attains purpose
The bitter cold dagger finds no resistance; armor unable to resist
Words cut like blade in both heart and mind
Fly away now without me
Seraph of light; Angel of death

A Mistaken Universe

Picture
The universe turns me into someone else; a shining collection of lost emotion
In a sea of purity and poison; a light flickers among the trillions
What is it that catches the eyes like this?
You’re never going to be as alluring as you are from my vantage

The closer you become; the more your colors fade away
Your spark dims with every new moment
The blurry beauty of an untouched vastness becomes clarity in darkness
Everything I saw in you was a mirage of false hopes; a canvas of foolish ideas

So why can I not look away?
Your constellation of charm creates a storm inside my mind
The hull of my heart melts away; this vessel was never built to last
Your glimmer shines through; shatters the shield with ease

I cannot focus but on the duality of your existence
Every moment I draw near is like eternity; awaiting the next step
You’re not what you seem to be; I understand that now
But I have to keep going; this journey is a desire that will not diminish

The colors are gone completely now; just pillars of blinding luster all around
My life drains away; replaced with the sweet embrace of the stars
A countless number of others without meaning
It’s your light that guides me; your radiance that calls to me

Piece by piece I become deconstructed; moment by moment
You may never truly need me; but I’ll be near
The gravity of your spirit was too much for me to ignore
The universe revolves around you; and so now do I

A Veil of Mire and Moon

Picture
Huntress of the night sky; he calls to you like a babbling brook
A fool who stands between your heart and bow
His arrogance and lust flow through the shallows; beneath the balefire of your moon
The bringer of a light cast in the shadows of wicked thoughts

An untouched and agile mind shall keep you pure; an arrow flown true
But malevolent obsession is like a poison in the blood; of the mind
It courses through innocence and drowns the world
Pulling them down deeper; taking it all away

Who protects the purity of the wild and whimsical?
I call to you blessed protector; save her from the doom that was to be yours
You are meager in size yet your skill is unmatched; the unbridled excellence of gods
Moxie and mind hang in the sky as a beacon

Cover the visage of the enchanters; a mask of irony not lost
A transformation of mockery; one he’ll never know of
Despoilment of her chastity will not come to be; pain will never flood your temple
Be a radiant champion to your tender maidens, Artemis the Phaesporia
