Separated by the Stars

I know you’re there somewhere
On the other side of eternity; the other side of emotion
My eyes remember your own; brilliant beacons of life
Our orbits so similar even at such a daunting distance
You brought comfort under the ever growing end

It was there before we became aware
But not until you were gone did it become a blockade
Every moment I spent learning; it was thriving
A wasted reach for a touch that would never come

There was never a chance; but I could imagine as I gazed upon your muted beauty
The bitter cold of space and boundary only highlights what I adore
Your pale brilliance on a backdrop of darkness; the hope you hold dear
Zeal in the face of continual gloom

This is why I dream of foolish futures; of things we’ll never have
Of what could never be
I stood no chance as the giant grew larger; separating us further
You’re somewhere on the other side; I’m losing what I never had
And it only makes me colder

A harbinger that was there before you and I; and still I ignored it
But I can no longer; I had your compassion to warm me then
Now I have only a memory; you have much more
And it is all you truly need; even as it engulfs you
Swallowed by the crimson titan between us

I’m left wondering if you ever even noticed
You were a bright image of salvation in a void
An emptiness that may have only been inside me
Shining only in my eyes
Separated by the stars

Find me on the other side. I'll be waiting.

a list of reasons it could never be
one after another placed in a row
logic betrayed by the heart
a thousand stand before one but fall
to the faint flutter of forbidden wings
left with only you, I am only me

Bygone Torrents

Rains fall upon a fractured land; cleansing the world of your toxic embrace
A frigid reality of time lost; of wasted chance
Frustration of magnitude never before witnessed
They held together your crumbling tower; as the storms washed the rest away

Could you not see the end?
Only solitude follows you now; abandoned lover of a broken embrace
A sky of anger now reigns in your void
How could you lose what made you whole; a child born into blessings fit for gods

Lightening shatters the trust of your people; of your enthroned blood
What promised to be endless was anything but
The results just a number in your countless plain of lies; truth escaped your heart like a flood
You flew among the angels; now you drown afraid and alone

Lady of the lands no longer
A saddened shadow of a lost great kingdom; the last of your kind
Your people have no more to give; you took far too much
Reach out no more my fallen queen; let the rains wash you away forever

Siren of the Deep

Picture
From the somber deep you slowly rise
  A vulnerable brilliance of emotion
The ocean reflects your beauty in color
An allure laid away for the splendid

Attraction incomparable
As the sea flows freely around the figure
I await your approach with fervor
Never have I desired more than you

The dim waters do little to cloak your beauty
Strands of tinted rose hair and pale blue skin
Eyes of gentle virtue
Touch of delicate skin on my own brings new intensity

A surge of both wave and passion
Our bodies intertwine to form a new love
Lips meet without linger
Breath held for eternity to stay locked in your embrace

Take my heart as you swim down once more into darkness
No fear shall accompany me
I am yours for eternity
Siren of the deep

Tomb of Damnatio Memoriae

Picture
Sealed away in a sepulcher of bountiful avarice; ignorance in the shadows of men
Not a prison but a monument to cruel excess
White gold idols of the weakened; beloved tools of harm
You hang far above our heads while buried deep below

A legacy of righteousness halted forever; interred among the dirt
The blood dries in the sand with you; the last empress of the shallow
Withered flesh betrays your once grand visage
It was time for us to let you go; a wayward path often taken
The end of your forsaken reign brought light to the darkness

A moon begs for your blessings; while a kingdom forgets
Love was all you promised; harm was the reality
Kindly take our memory away
Wrap it up like the vessel you once portrayed

An etched birthright carved into oblivion by the mislead; annulled from the world
They chose to abolish your memory
But as your body lies underneath; your phantom remains high in the night sky
The fools of avarice adorn your shrine; a muted song in your name
The lands of death and life await your return

A tomb fractured to reveal a broken heart
Weak and feeble traitors to the sky they stand; deceivers of your divinity
It had to be done
No sorrow for you; forgotten Pharaoh
