Exquisite Fiend

Picture
The devil placed my hand in yours
A silken touch that burned with the fury of the fire it was born from
It cauterized any sense of will that may have remained within
The poison dripping from your thorns blends into blood
My eyes melt into a mass of putrid gore whilst gazing upon your beauty
I knew enough to look away but without my eyes that proved to be futile
The mind compensates for the loss of vision by heightening the other sense
It’s this way that I know the flame has burned its way through my flesh
I feel it, I smell it
Bone turns to ash under the immense weight of being with you
Holding on was all I had left
And now that was gone as well
The fire consumes me completely
As your love once did
Damn the devil
