Prospect Place
December 2009

Prospect Place, also known as Trinway Mansion and Prospect Place Mansion, is a 29-room mansion built by abolitionist George Willison Adams (G. W. Adams) in Trinway, Ohio, just north of Dresden in 1856.

Investigation

Prospect Place was part of the old Underground Railroad and is famous for being a very active haunted place. Some of the stories involve a little girl in the upstairs hallway, an angry spirit in the barn on the property, and slaves in the basement. We had access to most of the building overnight, with a part of the building set aside for the live-in groundskeeper. During the night we experienced some unique events, and captured some interesting EVPs after the fact.

Evidence

Personal Experiences

One member believed that they were grabbed while in the barn, though just slightly on the arm. A shadow may have been seen in the basement.

Photos/Videos

None. We have dust orb photos, matrixing faces in clouds of breath, and a shadow likely from a camera strap, but nothing for sure paranormal.

EVPs

Other

None.

Conclusion

Prospect Place had some unusual things going on inside and out, however we had nothing too solid in terms of personal experiences. However, I believe that the "Ghost Train" EVP is by far some of the more compelling evidence we have ever collected. Though there were train tracks in the area, it was very late at night and you cannot hear the train at all before the sound of the horn going off incredibly loud.
