Waverly Hills Sanatorium
April 2009
The Waverly Hills Sanatorium is a former sanatorium located in southwestern Louisville/Jefferson County, Kentucky. It opened in 1910 as a two-story hospital to accommodate 40 to 50 tuberculosis patients. In the early 1900s, Jefferson County was ravaged by an outbreak of tuberculosis (the "White Plague") which prompted the construction of a new hospital. The hospital closed in 1961, due to the antibiotic drug streptomycin that lowered the need for such a hospital.
Investigation
Waverly Hills was the location of the first official paranormal investigation conducted by our group in April of 2009. We attended one of their overnight ghost hunts, and shared the building with a number of other people. The size of the building and property were intimidating at first, however also exciting. Waverly has been featured on numerous paranormal television shows, and is known as being one of the most haunted locations in the United States.

Other
During the night, we were approached by two women from another group asking us if we had seen the little girl following us. We had not, however this was around the same time that the EVPs of what sound like a little girl dancing and singing are captured.
Conclusion
Though we did not have any personal experiences during the night, Waverly was still an incredible place to have our first investigation as a group. And it is proof that you can't always judge a place based on one night, as we ended up with multiple EVPs discovered weeks after.
